Welcome
At the Tubac Pickleball Club (TPC), our mission is to foster the growth of pickleball for all ages, levels, and abilities in our community. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment that promotes health, social interaction, good sportsmanship, and fun. Our commitment includes providing ongoing skill development and mentoring programs to enhance both organized recreational and competitive play.
The club originated with a group of neighbors who discovered the game and initiated play in a parking lot behind the Embarcadero property. As interest blossomed, several players approached Santa Cruz County (SCC) to secure a new playing surface for two courts, transforming an existing basketball court at the Santa Cruz County North Complex—currently managed by the Tubac Community Center Foundation (TCCF). Following agreement from the County, two more courts were added in collaboration between SCC and TPC. Maintenance of these four courts has been primarily sustained through donations from club players.
The Health & Social Fix
Pickleball in Tubac stands out for its inclusive and friendly nature, welcoming players of all ages and skill levels. The sport not only fosters community building, but also promotes teamwork in its doubles format. On the health front, pickleball offers a low-impact yet effective cardiovascular workout, contributing to weight management, enhanced balance, agility, and improved mental well-being. In essence, pickleball provides a socially engaging and physically beneficial experience for a diverse range of participants.
